Our Mangalitsa hogs take 12-15 months to reach market weight (double the growing time of conventional hogs). Slower growth results in the Mangalitsa’s incredible signature marbling and flavor you won’t find in any other hog.
All of our hogs spend their lives outdoors, rooting and foraging, and eating the best available transitional organic non-GMO, corn-free and soy-free feed available. The base diet is a mix of Wheat, Barley, Oats, and Peas, supplemented by root vegetables, grasses, and hay in a managed pasture rotation. Pigs are finished in spring with gallons and gallons of maple sap from our own trees, and hundreds of pounds of acorns and apples in the fall. We make every effort to give them the best lives and the highest quality diet possible. Our goal is to produce the highest quality pork available anywhere, as sustainably as possible.
We sell whole or half, fully processed Mangalitsa hogs for $9.00/lb. Farmer’s samplers, roughly a quarter hog of classic cuts, are a great introduction to Mangalitsa, see product page for details. We also sell amazing Gourmet Lard for baking and cooking in 1.5lb and 3lb containers.
After processing and USDA inspection, hanging weights are typically in the 220-260 range.
Half Hogs and Whole Hogs are picked up at the processor.
Local delivery or farm pickup available on Farmer’s Samplers and sampler packs.
